This lino print speaks to the waters of origin — Madi, the primordial waters from which all life emerges. In our tongues, the suffix -di carries the remembrance of those first currents, the sacred womb of creation. To say Madi is to call on that vast river that flows not only upon the earth but also between the stars.

Through language, we trace a spiritual map: Modumedi (one who believes), Ledumedi (the faithful), Naledi (the star). Each carries -di within it — water, faith, starfire — reminding us that what flows in the river flows in us, and what glows in the heavens also glows within.
